Taylor Swift Receives the Icon Award at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards
The 2019 Teen Choice Awards first-ever Icon Award was given to Taylor Swift.
There is no one else that we can think of who deserves this award as much as Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift does it and does it well, with a smile on her face and as kind as can so it comes as no surprise that she was chosen for the 2019 Icon Award. This year has been skyrocketing for the Lover singer with her newest album. She has her fans dancing away while releasing hit after hit.
The Teen Choice Awards even customized a surfboard just for the occasion with Swift’s favorite thing in the world: cats. Using her enormous platform once again, Swift spoke out about Morgan and her team’s fight for equality saying “While they were winning the world cup, they were also taking a historic stand in terms of gender equality and gender pay. Please, please, please support her and her teammates because this is not over yet. It’s not resolved and it’s happening everywhere, and they are heroes and icons for standing up.”
When closing her speech, Swift gave fans something to celebrate by releasing the name of her newest track “Lover”, that’s dropping Aug. 16th. Huge congratulations to Taylor Swift on her award and her upcoming album.
