Lil Nas X Makes the Cover of Time Magazine
You may know Lil Nas X from his breakout hit track, “Old Town Road,” which became popular after being used for the #Yeehaw challenge meme on TikTok early this year.
The country rap song has now reached it’s 19th week at the very top of the Billboard Hot 100, and has now broken the record for longest-running top track.
Since his big break earlier this year, Lil Nas has already achieved so much: among these achievements include having the longest-running top song on the Billboard Hot 100, and the first artist to come out as a membr of the LGBT community after such an event. He has also been nominated for five Teen Choice Awards and won one, and is scheduled to perform at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, at which he is nominated for eight different awards.
Now, the genre-defying star is gracing the cover of Time magazine.

“I definitely feel the need to use my platform to spread positivity and do good things for the world,” he said during his interview with Time. Lil Nas has already broken down so many barriers as both a POC and a gay man making successful music that crosses into both country and hip-hop communities.
He is enthusiastic about the fact that his single has brought people from so many demographics together in a fun, positive way, and hopes to keep spreading positive energy as he continues to make new music.
