Bebe Rexha stands up for herself after executive producer says she is “too old to be sexy.”

The sexy singer looked amazing in the “Call You Mine” video and is so confident in her own skin. However, not everyone sees that confidence as amazing. Rexha recently spoke out about the fact that a music executive stated that she couldn’t be sexy because of her age. Rexha stated that she is “fed up being put in a box”.

I recently had a MALE music executive tell me that I was getting too old and that my brand was “confusing.” Because… I’m a songwriter and I post sexy pics on my Instagram and that’s not what female songwriters are suppose to do, especially for my age. I’m 29. I’m fed up with being put in a box. I make my own rules. I’m tired of women getting labeled as “hags” when they get old and guys get labeled as sexy with age. Anyways, I’m turning 30 on August 30 and you know what, I’m not running away from it. I’m not gonna lie about my age or sing songs that I feel will sell better because they sound “younger.” I’m gonna celebrate my age because you know what, I’m wiser, I’m stronger and TRUST ME I’m a much better lover than I was 10 years ago.

After she was told that she is “too old to be sexy”, Bebe took to Instagram leaving nearly nothing to the imagination proving that she is 29, sexy and confident in her own skin.

We love that the songwriter chose not to say a name but rather emphasized and focused on how the male executive’s comment ended up empowering her instead. It’s clear that she is not going to change herself for anyone. It is great to see her embracing turning 30 and continuing to be an inspiration for us all.
