Priyanka Chopra Speaks out About Hollywood Beauty Standards

Bollywood-turned-Hollywood starlet, Priyanka Chopra expressed her thoughts on the unrealistic expectations of women’s beauty standards in a candid interview with ET during Beautycon LA this past Saturday.
“Beauty as diversity should not be a conversation. It should be normal,” Chopra told ET, delving into the issue with the media’s promotion of picture-perfect beauty. She continues that while “there are days where you can look perfect with the perfect hair and makeup and perfect wardrobe…there will be days where you don’t and that’s fine too.”
In spite of being a former pageant queen, Chopra maintains that she, too, relates to the everyday experience of being a woman, dealing with “good hair days, good skin days, and the other way around.” In a world so focused on external beauty, she argues the importance of being comfortable and feeling good within oneself, regardless of anyone else’s perceptions.
In the encouragement of her fellow woman having those “not-so-good” days, Chopra offers an optimistic view:
“It’s ok to own that. I think that’s fine too. I think as long as we do that, we can live in a balanced world, right?”
