The series will be written by and produced by Aaron Cooley, author of the novels Four Seats: A Thriller of the Supreme Court and The Guns of Ridgewood. Joining Cooley as executive producers are Cathy Schulman, Jeff Gaspin, Brad Kaplan, and, of course, Viola Davis. While not much has been revealed about the upcoming series, it has been reported that the show is signed for a three-script commitment. So far, Davis is the only actress who has been casted.

The mini-series started with an idea from producer Schulman, who read a spec script from Cooley about First Lady Johnson. It is also reported that the series will use a female perspective when telling the stories of these women, due to Schulman’s production company’s goal, which is elevating and telling female stories.
The show itself already sounds like it will be a masterpiece, telling the untold stories of the women in the White House, and adding Viola Davis to the cast makes us even more excited to watch it.
