Michael B. Jordan Will Star Alongside Jamie Foxx in Social Justice Film ‘Just Mercy’

Warner Bros. Studio

Just Mercy is based on a true story regarding a lawyer’s battle for justice.

Bryan Stevenson (Michael B. Jordan) was a Harvard graduate who utilized his Law degree to defend those who were wrongfully convicted. In 1987, Stevenson took his first job in Alabama with the Walter McMillian case. McMillian (Jamie Foxx) was sentenced to die for the murder of an 18-year-old girl, despite an extensive amount of evidence proving his innocence. Stevenson (Michael B. Jordan) meets Eva Ansley (Brie Larson), a local supporter of his cause for social injustice and together they team up to help McMillian (Jamie Foxx).

Warner Bros. Studio

Walter McMillian (Foxx) had given up hope that his innocence would be proven by a system that was never designed for his benefit. Bryan Stevenson (Jordan) makes it his mission to fight against racism with the odds stacked against him.
