EDGII Australia’s Spring/Summer 2019 Collection from NYFW Was All About Girl Power

EDGII Australia debuted their Spring/Summer 2019 collection on Thursday, September 5th during New York Fashion Week.

The theme of the new collection is Girl Power and draws inspiration from The Powerpuff Girls. This inspiration can be seen in the clothing, specifically in regards to the colors; all of the pieces on the runway featured the dusty pink, sky blue and neon green reminiscent of the three animated heroines. According to EDGII, the line “encourages girls to believe in and express their inner self – The EDGII girl is confident, brave and independent and should be celebrated.”

There was a strong emphasis on layers, with many of the models walking the runway in long, flowing jackets and cardigans over dresses, bottoms, and tops. The models were adorned in neon, metallics, and iridescent shades, mixed with soft pastels sometimes offset with black. Shiny stiletto heels, white sneakers, and sparkling over-the-knee boots were the footwear of choice. The new collection expertly blends femininity with oversized, tomboyish silhouettes, bringing together comfort and high-style fashion.

EDGII Australia was established in 2015 and the brand is known for selling “affordable luxury fashion” that emphasizes creativity, functionality, and innovation. Their new spring/summer collection is a reminder for girls and women everywhere to always be strong, be themselves, and to not give in to society’s standards of beauty. The brand’s incorporating inspiration from The Powerpuff Girls, so many girls’ and women’s childhood heroes, is an amazing way to promote this reminder for girls and women to always be themselves.
