Brooklyn-based designer Romeo Hunte’s S/S 2019 collection was full of looks that were both classical and quirky. The show at Pier 59 Studios in Manhattan incorporated unobtrusive pieces like white button-downs and blazers and put a twist on them.

Models strutted down the runway in cropped blazers and deconstructed pieces sewn together.

The classical pieces were also livened up with fun details like dramatic fringe, patterned headscarves, and even live goldfish.

With this collection, Hunte sought to change the way we see business attire, which is why it is “styled with pieces that aren’t usually appropriated through business attire”.

It completely embodies the “it’s not what you wear, but how you wear it” attitude. The new take on business attire is one that we are definitely on board with.
