Allyson Felix Breaks World Record 10 Months After Giving Birth
Olympic sprinter, Allyson Felix, breaks Usain Bolt’s world record for the most gold medals on track and field at the 2019 World Athletic Championships. It has been proven time and time again that women are not of this Earth. 10 months after giving birth, Allyson Felix stepped foot on the track and proved to the world how phenomenal women truly are. Felix was apart of Team USA’s mixed-gender 4x400m relay team. Team USA took home the gold at the track and field World Athletic Championships, contributing to her record-breaking win of 12 gold medals.
Last November, Allyson Felix had to undergo an emergency C-section at 32 weeks. The operation was successful and Felix gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Eight months after giving birth, Felix returned to her career as a competitive racer as she paved the way for so many women in the world of professional sports. Felix spoke out about female athletes, including herself, who were penalized by Nike for getting pregnant. Nike has since vowed to change its policy in efforts to protect and better serve the many women in the field of athletics.
Allyson Felix shared a touching message about sisterhood and women’s empowerment as she poses with Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, a member of the Jamaican team, who just recently gave birth as well. We love to see women uplifting each other.
Supermom, Allyson Felix is an inspiration to women all over the world. Let this be a message that we can be anything, we can do anything, and we are everything.
Congratulations, Allyson Felix, you are a true inspiration to us all. Enjoy your well-deserved, record-breaking 12 gold medals.
