Camila Cabello Releases New Pop Anthem ‘Cry for Me’

Instagram

A month after dropping “Shameless” and “Liar,” Camila Cabello is giving fans yet another hit from her upcoming album.

Cabello teased the song “Cry for Me” in a tweet on October 2nd, saying that it tries to capture the feeling of “when your ex moves on faster than you and of course you want them to be happy, but just . . . not so fast.” Don’t let the seemingly depressing name scare you, the song is actually a very upbeat break-up anthem. “Cry for Me” is one of three singles the superstar released from her album, Romance.

The release of the song and it’s visuals was followed by the video for a new song Cabello features on along with Ed Sheeran and Cardi B entitled “South of The Border.”

The Grammy-nominated singer said she’s now in a more expansive mode as she is getting ready to release the album. There’s no set release date for the album yet, but Cabello is also getting set to make her feature acting debut; teaming with Kay Cannon, the director of Blockers, for a new telling of the classic fairy tale Cinderella. As we wait patiently for both of these amazing projects to release, we’ll all be singing “Cry for Me” in the mean time.
