Read Harris Dickinson’s Thoughts on Being Cast as Prince Phillip in the New ‘Maleficent’ Movie
According to Harris Dickinson, to be cast as the lead role in a Disney fairy tale movie is about as magical as it sounds.
The Maleficent sequel, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil starring Elle Fanning, Angelina Jolie, and Michelle Pfeiffer hit theaters Friday, Oct. 18. Dickinson shared that the experience of getting to work alongside these star-studded actresses was nothing short of a dream come true for the actor.
Dickinson was in utter shock when he found out he would be taking on the lead role in the upcoming Disney film. It wasn’t until filming had finished when Dickinson could wrap his head around being a real-life Disney prince. He praised Jolie and Pfeiffers’ work throughout the movie and how they welcomed him and made him feel he truly belonged there.
Being new to the role and film, Dickinson thought he needed to come in and prove himself, and in the trailer for the film, we see he did just that. Dickinson tried getting to know his character before playing the role. He soon figured out that the character’s nature and himself have a few things in common and applies to his performance.
