Watch Taylor Swift’s NPR Tiny Desk Concert
Before kicking off her 2020 World Tour, Taylor Swift performed for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series.
As Taylor Swift settled in for her Tiny Desk performance, she looked out at the 300-plus NPR employees and guests. She opened with an acoustic rendition of “The Man,” from her 2019 album, Lover. She then turned to the piano with a smile for Lover’s title track, then picking up the guitar again for “Death by a Thousand Cuts.” Lastly, she played “All Too Well” from her 2012 album, Red. Typically Tiny Desk performances include only three songs, but for Taylor, the crowd needed more.

In between songs during the show, Swift jokingly clapped back at those who speculate her stating, “I’ve gotten a question over and over again that I think has the potential to seriously deteriorate my mental health,” going on to say, “The question is, ‘What will you ever do if you get happy? What will you write about? Will you just never be able to write a song again?”

Performing on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series is a great way for an artist to demonstrate their talents in a different environment. Taylor Swift’s particular intimate performance was amazing to see before she is set to hit the road for her official Lover tour in 2020.
I know we are all looking forward to experiencing the love that Taylor Swift will bring to this tour.
