Rihanna’s Fenty Maison Gets Nominated for the British Fashion Awards
Rihanna’s luxurious Fenty House gets nominated by the British Fashion Council for Urban Luxe.
From receiving Grammys, Billboards, and many other awards, Rihanna is now nominated for her fashion brand, Fenty, in the Urban Luxury category at the BFAs. Rihanna’s nomination at the BFAs isn’t the first time she’s received recognition for her work in fashion. In 2014, Rihanna received an award for Fashion Style Icon at the CFDA Fashion Awards. However, this year’s nomination at the BFAs is the first nomination for her new brand Fenty.
Rihanna launched the Fenty Maison in May, bringing customers fantastic fabrics, structured, tailored dresses and suits, accessories, and eccentric shoes. On Instagram, the house posted its first promo for the brand on May 20, 2019, showing off the first collection.
Since the launch, Rihanna’s Fenty house is committed to dropping new releases and making them available online to shop once announced, a step-up from other traditional luxury houses that require customers to wait a couple of months to purchase what they see on the runway. In an interview with The New York Times Magazine back in May, Rihanna said she got the idea because people are always yearning for designs from designers when announced and on the runway, and from her own experiences.
She says, “People are always looking for the thing that hasn’t made it online yet. And as a consumer, I hate seeing something on the runway and then having to wait six months for it.”
Since the Britsh Fashion Council announced Rihanna’s nomination, on Twitter, she thanked the council and discussed the development of the brand.
Thank you @BFC for acknowledging our hard work and respecting the quality of what we produce! This is such an incredible honor. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

With Fenty’s un-traditional ways as a brand, innovative designs, and diversity, the nomination was definitely worthy.
