Taylor Swift Will Be Honored as Artist of the Decade at This Year’s AMA’s
Dick Clark Productions and ABC have announced that Taylor Swift will be honored during the American Music Awards on November 24th.
Taylor Swift, who is nominated for five awards this year, will also be performing during the award show in celebration of her biggest hits.
Dick Clark Productions’ Executive Vice President of Programming and Development, Mark Bracco, stated that, “Taylor’s impact on music this decade is undeniable and her performances on the American Music Awards have been truly spectacular. We’re thrilled to honor her as our Artist of the Decade and can’t wait for her to blow everyone away with an epic, career-spanning performance unlike any other!”
Following the release of her sixth No. 1 album, Lover, Swift is nominated for Artist of the Year, Favorite Music Video, Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock, Favorite Album – Pop/Rock, and Favorite Artist – Adult Contemporary.
Swift is also recognized as the artist with the most AMA wins this decade and as the female artist with the most AMA wins with 23 awards overall. She may also become the record holder for the most wins by an artist ever after this year’s show.
Swift and her fan base also recently celebrated four album anniversaries including the momentous thirteenth anniversary of her debut album, Taylor Swift. The three other albums that celebrated anniversaries this past week were all released within the last ten years; Swift’s third album, Speak Now, celebrating its ninth anniversary; fourth album, Red, celebrating its seventh anniversary; and her fifth album, 1989, celebrating its fifth anniversary.
