Queen Latifah Steals the Show at ABC’s ‘The Little Mermaid Live’
ABC premiered their live televised musical performance of The Little Mermaid Live, Tuesday night, and Queen Latifah’s performance as Ursula stole the show.
The Little Mermaid Live premiered on ABC for the first time showing the first adaptation of The Little Mermaid musical. The show starred Queen Latifah, John Stamos, Graham Philips, Amber Rilley, Shaggy, and Auliʻi Cravalho.
Latifah played the famous purple villain, Ursula, who sings the popular song “Poor Unfortunate Souls.” At the live premiere, Latifah wore a black leather dress with octopus tentacles.
Latifah’s performance on ABC was spectacular and her solo for “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” blew the audience away. Latifah’s costume even wowed many television viewers in the live musical version. On Twitter, one viewer noticed Latifah’s high-quality dress, compared to the other character’s costumes.

However, despite some viewers’ love of The Little Mermaid’s costumes, viewers enjoyed Latifah’s performance and also John Stamos’s performance as Chef Louis. Stamos previously played Chef Louis from the live concert event at the Hollywood Bowl.
