Ellen DeGeneres Salutes Firefighters Who Helped Save Her California Home
California’s wildfires have been catastrophic and Ellen invited to thank the men and women who helped to save her home as well as thousands of other’s.
The fire season last year was one of the most devastating and scariest times for residents of California. In the course of a year, there were more than 5,000 wildfires, averaging about 200 a week.
The men and women who put their lives on the line every day without expecting even a thank you, deserve to be recognized. Who better to do so than Ellen DeGeneres? Personally affected by the fires, Ellen’s home in Montecito was inches away from being taken down.
Ellen on her show, The Ellen Degeneres Show, proudly gave the group a round of applause, thanking them for their tremendous efforts in stopping the fires. In regards to Ellen’s residence, City of Riverside firefighter, Eric LeBlanc said, “We didn’t know it was your house until maybe the third day, and when we found out, it put a pep in our step.”
In the past, Ellen has thanked the firefighters during another episode of The Ellen Degeneres Show.
