Check out These New Visuals from Artist Skooly’s New Single ‘Pop Off’
2 Chainz T.R.U. (The Real University) recording artist, Skooly, released a new visual for his single “Pop Off.”
2 Chainz describes his record label (The Real University) as a “school with various levels”. His goal as the head of the label is to teach up and coming artists new skill sets, and help others make their dreams come true. Skooly signed with T.R.U. in 2019, but he certainly earned his spot in the label. The Atlanta Rapper co-founded “The Rich Kidz,” a local rap group, at the early age of 14. In the year following, he dropped project after project, including essentials like “BLACC JON GOTTI” and his “DON’T YOU EVER FORGET ABOUT ME” mixtapes. He has also collaborated with other famous rappers like Young Thug, Future, and many more. 2 Chainz has proudly proclaimed that Skooly will be the next superstar. 2Chainz stated that he has “been watching him since he was about 14 in Atlanta. As a little kid, he had a Lil Wayne vibe….He’s 25-years-old, and he’s nowhere near his peak.”
The T.R.U. brand was initially introduced with 2 Chainz seminal mixtape, “TRU REALIGION” in 2011.The following year his solo debut, “BASED ON A T.R.U. STORY,” won a Grammy and was RIAA platinum certified. Since then the rapper has been on fire, dropping eleven mixtapes and five solo albums. On Friday, October 4th, Chainz’s T.R.U. label announced a joint venture with Atlantic Records. “I treat the record label as school with various levels,” 2 Chainz says, continuing to say: “That’s why we refer to it as ‘The Real University.’ It’s a course you go through.”
In the “Pop Off” video, Skooly acts out a poker game robbery with his female accomplices. He refers to his girl gang as “savages” and parties with them before the heist. After, the girls review the game plan and follow by robbing the game participants at gunpoint. They finally end by returning to meet up with Skooly and celebrate a job well done.
Skooly has an upcoming single called “Virgil Discount (Feat. 2 Chainz).”
