Interview: Daan Creyghton Talks to Us About His Favorite Things + Hunter Street
Actor, Daan Creyghton, can currently be seen playing Sal on the Nickelodeon show, Hunter Street. Daan says that in real life he’s pretty much the opposite of Sal, but loves playing him. Daan details his role on Hunter Street, his dream collab, how he balances school and acting, and the one thing his fans might not know about him. Read on to find out his definition of self-love and his favorite outdoor activity.
GLITTER: What would you say was your big break?
DAAN: Playing Sal in Hunter Street for Nickelodeon. Before that, I did some commercials, but that was my first big TV role.
GLITTER: What can you tell us about your role as Sal on Nickelodeon’s Hunter Street? What is he like? Are you like him in any way?
DAAN: Sal is a heartfelt and naïve boy who is extremely intelligent. He loves to do experiments and he has a solution to almost every problem you could imagine. In the second season, and even more so in the third season, Sal begins to come out of his shell and becomes much more social and confident in situations.
I am pretty much the opposite of Sal, but there is one thing we have in common and that is that both Sal and I have a large family which is really important to us. We both love to spend a lot of time with our family and we both always have their back. In my family my youngest brother Tom is the “Sal” of the family, he is very smart and loves techy stuff.
GLITTER: What can you tell us about the new season without giving anything away?
DAAN: This season the mystery will be bigger than ever. There are 30 episodes instead of 20, more amazing characters and the Hunters go to locations they have never been before where many secrets will be revealed and where they meet new people, but can they trust these people? Of course, there will be lots of funny scenes as well. You truly don’t want to miss it!!
GLITTER: What other shows have you guest-starred on?
DAAN: Unfortunately, nothing yet, hopefully, I will soon.
GLITTER: Who is your dream collaboration with?
DAAN: Acting-wise I would love to work together with Ansel Elgort, I really admire him and his acting skills. Clothing wise it would be my dream to do a collaboration with my favorite brands D-Squared and Mike Amiri.
GLITTER: What do you love doing in your free time?
DAAN: When I am not working, like any teenager I like hanging out with friends and family as well as watching movies. I try to be as active as possible and I am also a huge fan of fashion.
GLITTER: How do you balance school with acting?
DAAN: I get a lot of support from my teachers, tutors, and family. We usually film four days in a row (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) and the other days I go to school. On a filming day, my tutor will be waiting at my home to help me with my homework and help me prepare for tests. My teachers are always willing to give me an extension for assignments when necessary.
