Interview: Dakota Lotus Discusses His Big Break
Actor Dakota Lotus can currently be seen as Cooper on Disney’s Coop & Cami Ask the World. Dakota spoke with us about his dream collaboration, what it’s like being on Coop & Cami Ask the World, something his fans might not know about him, and the best advice he was ever given. Dakota also lets us in on a few of his upcoming projects.
GLITTER: What would you say was your big break?
DAKOTA: My big break was definitely having the opportunity to play Cooper Wrather and working on Disney Channel. I feel so grateful to be able to be a part of the Disney Family.
GLITTER: What can you tell us about your role as Cooper on Disney’s Coop & Cami Ask the World? What is he like? Are you like him in any way?
DAKOTA: I love playing Cooper. He is a very kind-hearted, generous, and loyal kid who loves his live stream channel with his family. We definitely have a lot of similarities as we are both very loyal friends and love to sing (which you will see more of in season 2).
GLITTER: Who is your dream collaboration with?
DAKOTA: That’s a hard one because I love so many artists. I would say, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, and Allen Stone.
GLITTER: What do you love doing in your free time?
DAKOTA: In my free time, I love to write, play music, sing and dance.
GLITTER: Is it true that you will be releasing an EP later this year? If so, can you tell us anything about it yet?
DAKOTA: I am releasing my first single and music video before the end of the year called “All in for Love.” I can’t wait for you all to hear and see it. The song is about spreading awareness to take care of our earth, which is a very important topic to me. I’m really inspired to write music that has a conscious message and a positive story. There will be an EP in the future, stay tuned!
GLITTER: How do you balance school with acting?
DAKOTA: I started high school this year. We do school on set. I have an amazing teacher who helps me stay balanced. I’m really driven in school because I love working so much, and in order to work, I need to get good grades so I can get my work permit.
GLITTER: What is one thing your fans might not know about you?
DAKOTA: I love really old school music like Elvis and Michael Jackson. I also love doing magic.
GLITTER: Best advice you were ever given?
DAKOTA: Stay grounded; never stop learning your craft and discovering who you are. Trust in yourself; obstacles are opportunities to rise up and push through.
GLITTER: What pushes and motivates you daily?
DAKOTA: Doing what I love and being committed to getting better at my craft.
