South Africa Wins Miss Universe 2019
Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa is crowned the 2019 Miss Universe.
Congratulations are in order to the new Miss Universe of 2019, Zozibini Tunzi. Last night, on Dec. 8, Fox aired the 68th edition of The Miss Universe pageant hosted by Steve Harvey. This is Steve Harvey’s fifth consecutive year hosting the pageant. The infamous pageant was held at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia this year. The competition also included a performance from Ally Brooke, formally known from Fifth Harmony. The contestants included 90 participants from different countries, including winner Zozibini Tunzi.

The first runner up was Madison Anderson of Puerto Rico and the second runner up was Sofia Aragon of Mexico. For the award of Best National Costume, Gazini Ganados of the Philippines took home that award. Olga Bulawa of Poland won the award for Miss Congeniality.
This will be South Africa’s third win for the competition after their most recent victory in 2017.

This will also be, for the first time ever that Miss Universe, Miss America, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA are all black women.
