In a meeting of two Hollywood heavyweights, Melissa McCarthy will join Nicole Kidman in her first role as a series regular since CBS comedy, Mike & Molly.

The two actors are set to star in and executive produce Hulu’s new limited series Nine Perfect Strangers, an adaptation of the latest novel by Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty. Included in the key players behind HBO’s Big Little Lies adaptation –David E. Kelley, Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories, Kidman’s Blossom Films, and Endeavor Content – are also heavily involved.

Nine Perfect Strangers is set at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that offers a transformative ten-day healing experience to nine stressed city dwellers that promises to positively transform their lives. The retreat is presided over by Kidman’s character of Masha, a determined resort director who works tirelessly to ensure her clients are healthy and happier. McCarthy will portray Francis, a middle-aged author overcoming a low point in her career.

Fans of Big Little Lies will likely get addicted to this one, so watch out for the air date. If you can’t get enough of McCarthy, she is hosting her first season of the NBC kids’ talent show Little Big Shots later this year.
