Listen to Carly Rae Jepsen’s New Song ‘Let’s Be Friends’

Terence Patrick/CBS

“Let’s Be Friends” is Carly Rae Jepsen’s first single since her album entitled Dedicated last year.

Carly Rae Jepsen’s new song is the anti-Valentine’s Day anthem we all needed. The song shows Jepsen on the receiving end of a breakup, but she becomes happy about it. The song completely nails the mood it is going for and showcases that liberating feeling after breaking up with that short-term someone.

The song is her first release of 2020. Last May, the artist released album Dedicated. The artwork for this new song is a cartoon drawing of Carly Rae Jepsen and her dumpee with “Not really though” at the bottom.

If the song wasn’t exciting enough, Jepsen also announced a few extra shows she will be performing on the West Coast this spring. She is set to perform at Coachella both weekends and is set to play three shows in Oakland,  California, Seattle, Washington, and Portland, Oregon.
