Olay Inspires Women in STEM

On Super Bowl Sunday, Olay released their advertisement that recognized women in the STEM field and inspired the future generations to come.

In the scientific, technology, engineering, and mathematics field, women are often underrepresented. The Olay commercial shows retired NASA astronauts Nicole Stott, Lilly Singh, and Busy Phillips launching into space, reminding viewers that there is enough space for women in space.

A little classy BTS from my space shuttle. Was super cool to be in a #superbowl commercial for my friends over at @olay alongside @busyphilipps @katiecouric @astro_nicole and @tarajiphenson. I got to play an astronaut, act alongside a real one and be suspended on cables to float in space. C’MON! But the best part was being part of a moment that highlighted such a great cause. I’m a firm believer that there’s enough space for all types of people in all industries. Inclusion shouldn’t even be the goal, it should be the norm. The people who work on our technology, tell our stories and make decisions that affect the world, should look like the world. And this is a great step in the right direction. #MakeSpaceForWomen #ripheadphoneusers

Regarding the commercial, Olay’s brand director, Eric Rose said “We recognize that many industries have yet to reach gender parity, which is why we’re using our Super Bowl ad to feature fearless women who have been trailblazers in their own industries as a way to inspire people everywhere to get involved and support Operation #MakeSpaceForWomen.”
