Get a Sneak Peek at Hulu’s New Show ‘The Great’
Hulu dropped a new hilarious trailer for The Great starring Elle Fanning as Catherine the Great.
If you enjoyed the show The Favourite, or are interested in watching a hilarious show about royals, then you will definitely love The Great. Written and executive-produced by Tony McNamara, who also wrote The Favourite, The Great follows Catherine’s rise to power with her husband, Emperor Peter III, who is played by Nicholas Hoult. Catherine and Peter’s marriage is arranged and she quickly realizes how absurd he truly is. When she eventually learns that she will be next in line for the throne if he dies, Catherine begins to plot her escape.

Tony McNamara received a Best Original Screenplay Oscar nomination for co-writing The Favourite. Now, he is the creator, writer, and executive producer of The Great. Many people have noted the similarities between the two and believe The Great has similar quick-witted humor as The Favourite. Some of the actors working alongside Fanning and Hoult will be Phoebe Fox, Adam Godley, and Gwilym Lee.
