The band has decided to write a new song that will bring a little more positivity to the world.

OneRepublic just released their new song “Better Days” that they wrote while they are self-quarantining. It was written and recorded over the past week. The track proves to be optimistic during these dark unprecedented times by reminding everyone that there are better days to come when all of this is over.

A few of the band members unknowingly were exposed to COVID-19 and ended up in quarantine in L.A. at lead singer, Ryan Tedder’s studio. “With only two songs left to finish, one of them happened to be ‘Better Days.’ We write about real experiences and events that happen to us — this is what happens when you write a song during a crisis,” Tedder said in a statement.

The band is donating a portion of the funds from “Better Days” to MusiCares’ COVID-19 Relief Fund, which helps artists who are struggling due to the virus. They are also asking fans to get involved and by sending in videos to be a part of the music video for “Better Days.” The fan videos will include random acts of kindness or footage of first responders helping others during this pandemic.

Listen to OneRepublic’s new song “Better Days” and look out for their album, Human on May 9th.
