Many celebs joined FOX and iHeart Media for their Living Room Concert for America, to praise and donate to our local heroes.
The star-filled concert was hosted by Elton John, and featured performances by Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys, Tim McGraw, David Grohl , Demi Lovato, H.E.R., Sam Smith, Billie Eilish, and Camila Cabello to name a few.
The special also paid tribute to first responders and everyone fighting for us on the frontlines during this global pandemic. David Grohl’s dedication to first responders was an acoustic version of “My Hero”.
Alicia Keys opened the benefit special with a performance of “Underdog,” which was a beautiful dedication to the first responders and health professionals who are facing this pandemic head on. “My hope is that we remember how resilient we are and how we defy the odds,” Keys said while playing the opening piano notes. “I’d like to dedicate this song to the first responders and medical professionals that are risking their life to keep us safe. We’re so grateful,” she continues.
Music fans who tuned into the one-hour concert were also treated to appearances from Ellen DeGeneres, Ryan Seacrest, Lady Gaga, Lizzo, and Ciara and Russel Wilson.
During Lady Gaga’s appearance, she checked in to make sure everyone watching is trying to find the time to be kind to themselves. She states that “social distancing isn’t easy, but try to chat with your friends remotely.” She continued, “Move your body, meditate when you can and otherwise find joy however you can. For me I try to find joy every day in a moment of gratitude.”
Additionally, viewers were able to make donations that will go to the First Responders Children’s Foundation and Feeding America, two charities that are helping and serving families during this difficult time. You can support these organizations by donating to either Feeding America, First Responders Children’s Foundation.
