Take a Look at Dua Lipa’s Cover with ‘The New York Times’

Pop singer, Dua Lipa, covers The New York Times and talks being her own MUA, early album release emotions, and the expectations of her sophomore album Future Nostalgia.

During the interview portion with The New York Times, Dua Lipa revealed that she was practicing social distancing by becoming her very own hair and makeup artist for a recent photo shoot because of the pandemic restrictions.

The singer told the publication that the upside of her doing her own beauty and makeup routine is that it showed a natural, raw version of herself. “Normally when I’d go and do promo of course, I’d have my hair and my makeup done, whereas now I have one trusty brown lipstick. I put face cream, and that is it for the day,” she shares with The New York Times.

Dua Lipa’s entire photo shoot was done while following quarantine restrictions as she posed herself outside on a balcony.

The pressures of artists in the music industry to live up to the success of their first album is quite common to endure. Lipa spoke with The New York Times about how she had to remain positive and focused during the making of Future Nostalgia up to the release preparation of the album. However, as soon as the album leaked before the singer was about to release her album, she knew she had to act fast.

Although Lipa and her team did not anticipate an early album release or global pandemic being a part of the Future Nostalgia preparation, it turned out that these events all worked out in the singer’s favor.

Dua Lipa landed her first number 1 album spot in the U.K. and ranked at number 4 in the U.S. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon last week, he informed the pop star that she is the first female British artist, since 1955, to have three singles in the U.K. Top 10.
