Watch the New Trailer for Michelle Obama’s Netflix Documentary ‘Becoming’
The news of this documentary had been kept a secret until Netflix dropped the trailer.
Netflix has released a trailer for a new Michelle Obama documentary titled Becoming. It started with the Obama’s Higher Ground production company and will premiere on Netflix on May 6. The documentary shares the same name as Obama’s 2018 memoir and will pick up where it left off. The film follows the former first lady as she embarks on her book tour.
I’m excited to share that on May 6, @Netflix will release BECOMING, a documentary directed by Nadia Hallgren that shares the stories of the amazing people I met after the release of my memoir. During this difficult time, I hope you’ll find some inspiration and joy in this film. pic.twitter.com/fqsIbhXYeL

Her book Becoming has sold over 11 million copies and has been translated into 20 different languages. On her 2019 book tour, Michelle went to 34 cities around the country. In those cities, she met with communities and youth groups answering questions about her time in the White House and giving life advice to the next generation. In a statement, Obama said the experience of the tour “drove home the idea that what we share in common is deep and real and can’t be messed with.”
