Check out what stars like Ellen DeGeneres and Mark Ruffalo have to say in their PSA about the Navajo Nation.

Ellen DeGeneres, Mark Ruffalo, and other celebrities created a PSA calling attention to the need for medical volunteers and supplies to help the Navajo Nation.

In the clip, the stars shared the following message: “Dear America, 150 years ago we made a promise that the beautiful citizens of the Navajo Nation would be cared for the same way all Americans are, to give the first people of this land the respect and dignity we’ve owed them for a long time. Now is the time to make good on our promises.”

The Navajo Nation spans 27,000 square miles and has 175,000 people living on the reservation. As of Sunday, there have been 2,292 cases of the coronavirus and 73 deaths. In light of these devastating events, the organization Protect the Sacred is stressing the need for medicine, personal protective equipment (PPE), test kits, and medical personnel to be sent to the Navajo people.

Director of Protect the Sacred Allie Young urges viewers of the PSA to support the initiative in order to protect “the keepers of our stories, language and culture.”
