Gather Your Friends to Listen to The 1975’s New Song ‘Guys’
“Guys” is a love song for friendships rather than romantic relationships.
Another day that we are blessed with new music. The 1975 have slowly been releasing songs for their new album Notes on a Conditional Form, out May 22, including “Frail State of Mind” and, most recently, “If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know).” The newest single “Guys” reflects on the past 20 years of friendship between the members of the band.

Matty Healy, the lead singer, wrote ‘Guys’ as a sort of love letter to his lifelong friends and bandmates. The song reminisces on their past and the start of their careers such as when they all shared an apartment together. In the chorus, Healy fondly remembers when they first formed and sings in the chorus, “The moment that we started a band/Was the best thing that ever happened/And I wish we could do it again.”
Notes on a Conditional Form will be the band’s fourth album. The past few weeks they have been hosting album listening parties on social media for their previous album leading up to the new album’s release date, May 22. If that still isn’t enough The 1975 entertainment, Healy also did a special podcast where he interviews Stevie Nicks, Brian Eno, Kim Gordon, and more.
