Here Is Why Noah Cyrus Is Opening up About the Meaning of Her New Song ‘Young & Sad’
Noah Cyrus recently released her new EP, The End of Everything, and for one of her songs, “Young & Sad,” the artist has revealed in a heartfelt Instagram Live that it is about Miley being “like sunshine,” while her being merely “blessed in her shadow.”
Noah’s song, “Young & Sad” shows the true toxicity of growing up in a famous relatives’ shade, whether it is Miley Cyrus or Billy Ray Cyrus. Noah also explains how much it hurts to receive rude online comments and how devastating it is to one’s self-esteem and mental health. Noah Cyrus is showing her vulnerability as she describes the meaning of her song “Young and Sad” discussing the struggles of growing up with a famous sister and the effects on her. We love you, Noah.
“Being born in the family I was in, everybody gave me such a hard time for having a hard time being Miley’s little sister, but I always felt like I was that person that no one gave a shit about due to what people said to me online,” Noah tearfully said. We can all sympathize with Noah Cyrus’s experience because many of us felt like someone’s or even one’s own shadow at least once in our lives.

It is rare that a star opens up about the true deception and toxicity social media may embody, but Noah strongly did. It is empowering to see someone come into her truth and share with the world what hurts her the most, unafraid of others’ judgment, trolling, or criticism. We all have a thing or two to learn from Noah. We’ve all been in her shoes and some of us, still remain in the tight spot that she is in. Even though she is proud of her Cyrus clan, she doesn’t want to be just another Cyrus. She wants to be Noah and everyone deserves to be their own individual, not a shadow.
