Get ready, Parent Trap fans: it looks like a reunion is underway.
Parent Trap director Nancy Meyers nearly broke the Internet this past Thursday after teasing that a possible cast reunion was in the works. On Instagram, Meyers shared a behind-the-scenes photo of herself directing the infamous pool-side confrontation between Lindsay Lohan who played Hallie Parker and Annie James, and Elaine Hendrix who played Meredith Blake.

While Meyers immediately dispelled any speculation of a sequel happening, she assured fans that the news she would be sharing next week is something to look forward to.
And if that wasn’t enough to get fans excited, Lindsay Lohan further confirmed that something exciting is in the works by retweeting an article written about a Parent Trap reunion.

Fans of the movie expressed their excitement by taking to the comments section: “we’re shaking,” “long overdue,” “we need!” One fan even poked fun at the fact that Lohan played the role of both Hallie and Annie, saying “hope Lindsay and her twin are both there at the same time.”
