Gaga recently made a surprising confession to fans, telling them that at first, she didn’t want to initiate a friendship with Grande. At the time, the “god is a woman” singer was still overcoming the trauma of the 2017 Manchester bombing and the death of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller. However, Gaga revealed that despite all this, Grande was very persistent in their conversations and spoke openly about the struggles she had encountered in recent years.

After speaking with Grande, Gaga was inspired to write “Rain On Me”, a song that explores the various layers of her own personal trauma. She described recording and filming with Grande as an important healing process. The pop duo celebrated the release of the music video and complimented each other on social media.

Chromatica won’t be released until next week, but for now, we’ll be listening to “Rain On Me” on repeat.
