Be Sure to Listen to Rihanna’s Demo of “Same Old Love”
It may not be new music from Rihanna but it’s a long-awaited treat for fans.
Fans looking to commemorate 15 years of Rihanna’s music career now have the perfect way to celebrate: listening to the leak of a song that was almost hers. Before Selena Gomez released her hit single “Same Old Love” back in 2015, singer Rihanna teased on her Twitter in 2014 that she that the track might appear on her own Anti album.

Fans have long been aware that Rihanna recorded an unreleased demo for “Same Old Love”, but were unable to hear it at the time of its creation. Now that a few years have passed, the full demo has been leaked onto YouTube, and fans are loving her take on the song.

The song was notably co-written and covered by Charli XCX. During an interview with Genius back in 2016, she stated that Rihanna had recorded the song, but that it didn’t fit the mood and direction of her album. The single was then given to Gomez, but regardless of which version you prefer, it is still a great song. “Same Old Love” served as the second single on Gomez’s album Revival and went on to become one of her biggest hits.
