The Gorillaz Almanac will feature more than 120 pages of Jamie Hewlett’s artwork for the band, and the comic book will be released on Oct. 16, 2020.

Gorillaz is a British virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn, a musician and songwriter, and Jamie Hewlett, an artist and the creator of the band’s animated universe. This animated universe is often seen in the band’s music videos.

The almanac will depict the famous fictional characters that play in the virtual band, 2D, Noodle, Russel Hobbs, and Murdoc Niccals. It will also feature games and puzzles on its colorful pages. 2D is a nickname for Stuart Pot, a fictional British character who plays the keyboard and acts as the lead vocalist for Gorillaz. Noodle is a fictional female British-Japanese musician who is a trained guitarist and is part of a governmental super soldier project, and Murdoc Niccals is a fictional bassist who changed his middle name to Faust and made a deal with Satan. Finally, Russel Hobbs is a fictional drummer who embodies the spirit of Hip-Hop in Gorillaz.

Gorillaz is particularly famous for its 2016 hits “Clint Eastwood” and “Feel Good Inc.” Each music video has accumulated almost 400 million views each on YouTube.

Be sure to check out their music and stay tuned for Gorillaz Almanac, which you will be able to pre-order before Oct. 16.
