Stay Tuned for Kobe Bryant’s Induction Into the Basketball Hall of Fame’s 2020 Class

The beloved late basketball star’s legacy will live in on in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Chairman, Jerry Colangelo, recently told ESPN that the highly anticipated Class of 2020 Basketball Hall of Fame induction originally set to take place this August has been pushed back to the spring of 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Colangelo assured that separate ceremonies will be held for the Class of 2020 and Class of 2021, saying, “We won’t be combining them, the Class of 2020 is a very special class and deserves its own celebration.”

This year’s class is particularly special because Kobe Bryant is one of the many special players being inducted. Bryant is first-ballot enshrinement and will be placed without a vote.

Before retiring in 2016, Bryant had won five NBA titles during his 20-year professional basketball career. He was also named MVP of his 2007-08 season. Known as one of the best scorers in the league, he is ranked number four on the NBA’s all-time points list behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone and LeBron James.

Although the beloved basketball star had his untimely passing in late January of this year, devoted fans continue to keep his memory alive by honoring his career with video tributes on social media:
