Zendaya Wants You to Know Your History and Your Rights
Zendaya is more than a talented actor; she is a long-standing and vocal supporter of racial justice and the Black Lives Matter movement.
For years now, Zendaya has demanded social progress and condemned police brutality. After George Floyd’s death, she retweeted one of her own posts from 2016 following the death of Alton Sterling:

Her 2016 message asks, “How many more times must this happen for us to matter?” Now, after nearly four more years of violence perpetrated against people of color, as well as a score of unjust deaths, that message is as powerful as it is mournful.
Zendaya has been raising awareness about George Floyd’s death and other incidents of police violence all week. She shared multiple posts demanding justice for Beonna Taylor, an EMT who was shot in her home in Louisville, Kentucky earlier this year.
No arrests have been made.
No officers have been charged.
Remember #BreonnaTaylor.#JusticeForBre matters.

Not only is Zendaya outspoken about current events; she’s also vocal about the history of racial violence. On May 31st, she shared a tweet from African & Black history about the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. She also retweeted a video of James Baldwin asking a question similar to her own: “How much time do you want for your progress?’”

Zendaya also supported protesters’ rights by sharing a link to Know Your Rights Camp, a group that offers legal assistance to those arrested while fighting injustice in the Minneapolis area.
Like many others protesting the death of George Floyd, Zendaya will not allow her years-long call for justice to be silenced. For more information about how to support justice for George Floyd and the BLM movement, visit Zendaya’s pinned tweet from https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/#.
