Charles Sykes/Bravo

Bachelorette for the 13th season of The Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay describes her experience in the Miami protest as “peaceful” and “beautiful.”

Lindsay recently started a podcast on Ringer with Van Lathan called “Higher Learning,” where she opened up about how she felt during the protest. She stated how “it was peaceful. It was beautiful.” She also mentioned the “beautiful speeches” she heard while protesting.

It was a “harsh reality” for Lindsay to witness some people “completely unbothered” by the current events happening, she explains in her podcast. It “hit [her] so hard” that the people who are not affected by the death of George Floyd just go about their day. Listen to the first full episode of the podcast below for more details.

She is afforded a large audience of followers thanks to her time on The Bachelorette to protest and share her thoughts on the situation. Lindsay has the platform to speak to many people regarding the injustice in the world as well as encourage others to take a stand on the situation.

On Saturday, May 30, Lindsay shared on her Instagram story a picture of her and her husband, writing “Today we protested. Today we went beyond our platform. Today we put action behind our words. Today we used our voices to make a difference…We have to keep pushing forward and demanding change.”

Lindsay is just one of the thousands of people who have shown support and expressed their opinions on George Floyd’s murder along with the injustice in the world. See some of her tweets and retweets below.
