The Weeknd Donates $500,000 to Help Support Black Lives Matter
The 30-year-old Canadian singer shared on Instagram his generous donations to organizations in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
The Weeknd’s large donation was divided up for three separate organizations that aid BLM. It is reported that $200,000 went to Black Lives Matter Global Network, $200,000 to Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights campaign, and $100,000 was given to the National Bail Out.
As stated in his caption, The Weeknd urges celebrities to pay it forward. He also mentioned that no matter how large or small the donation may be, it can still make a difference.

As the African-American community pushes for unity to fight for justice, a handful of familiar Hollywood faces are helping join the fight to acknowledge that Black Lives Matter.
Since the death of George Floyd, famous figures such as The Weeknd have donated in support of Black Lives Matter protesters. Some of these celebrities include Drake, Seth Rogen, Steve Carrell, Chrissy Teigen, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Harry Styles.
