J Cole Joins Protestors Demanding Justice for George Floyd
J Cole joined protestors in his hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina who were demanding justice for the killing of Geroge Floyd.
J Cole is one of many celebrities joining the Black Lives Matter movement by calling for justice for the murder of an unarmed African-American man by police. George Floyd was killed outside of a convenience store by a white police officer who pressed his knee onto Floyd’s neck as Floyd was saying “I Can’t Breathe.”
The rapper did not take part in any news interviews and did not announce his plans to his followers. However, fans were not surprised that he joined the movement.

The isn’t the first time J Cole has walked with protestors. He joined the Black Lives Matter protests for the killing of Eric Garner in 2014.

Cole is also known for voicing his experiences with not only racism but being targeted by police. In his 2017 song “Neighbors” Cole raps about how he and his fellow Dreamville team had rented a house in a predominantly white suburb as a creative workspace to record music. His neighbors assumed that they were selling drugs: This was later followed by a SWAT raid at the place. Cole used the security footage of the incident for the music video.
We must take a stand for ending police brutality and racism in our country. If you would like to support the Black Lives Matter movement and their efforts you can visit the Black Lives Matter website, donate to the official George Floyd memorial fund, or sign the petition demanding justice.
