Malala Yousafzai Speaks out in Support of Black Lives Matter
Pakistani activist and the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Malala Yousafzai, has offered encouraging words towards the Black Lives Matter movement.
Yousafzai is mostly known for her tireless work as an activist for girls and women in education, but on Monday, June 1, she took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the civil rights movement.
I stand with the Black community’s fight for justice for Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and many, many others before them. We cannot accept injustice at any cost. #BlackLivesMatter

The UN Messenger of Peace also noted to her followers the importance of not only following the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Nelson Mandela but to surpass them and do better as a nation. She also took the liberty to share which funds to donate, including the Minnesota Freedom Fund, George Floyd’s Memorial Fund, Black Visions Collective, and Reclaim the Block.
Let’s go beyond quoting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela. The work they led is not over and those leading the fight today need all of our support.
