Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Are Helping Fight Systematic Racism
On Wednesday, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra announced that they have made donations to two non-profit organizations that are working to end the systematic racism and inequality found in our society: The Equal Justice Initiative and American Civil Liberties Union.
Nick took to Twitter to notify fans and followers about the couple’s donations that are their “first step towards our continued efforts to help fight this fight.”
“We must all do the work to be ANTI racist and stand with the black community,” Nick wrote, following up his statement on his and Priyanka’s behalf with “We stand with you and we love you. #BlackLivesMatter #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd”
Pri & I have heavy hearts … The reality of the inequalities in this country, and around the world, are glaring. Systemic racism, bigotry and exclusion has gone on for far too long, and remaining silent not only reinforces it, but it allows it to continue.

Both Nick and Priyanka have been diligently using their large social media followings and global platforms to support the Black Lives Matter movement.
Last Friday, May 29, Priyanka Chopra posted on her Instagram page to address the cruel and unfair death of George Floyd, writing “End this race war here in the US, and around the world. Wherever you live, whatever your circumstances, NO ONE deserves to die, especially at the hands of another because of their skin color.”
On May 27, Nick posted a graphic of George Floyd on Instagram with an accompanying link and text line to sign the petition to bring him and his family justice. He has also reposted Jay-Z’s statement on the situation, as well as participated in Black Out Tuesday on the platform.
Nick and Priyanka are doing all that they can with the platforms they have and the resources they have access to, proving that a couple who takes on the world together, stays together.
