Pull Up or Shut Up: Revlon Reveals Statistics on Black Corporate Employees
Revlon is the first of a few companies to display their need to diversify their corporate offices.
Youtube beauty sensation Jackie Aina is supporting the #PullUporShutUp initiative started by UOMA Beauty’s Sharon Chuter. The movement is calling for companies that have made statements supporting Black Lives Matter to showcase the demographics of their corporate positions. Chuter gave beauty corporations 72 hours to show their receipts for their supporters to see the types of companies they root for. If these same companies chose not to do so, they would have to retract their so-called statements of solidarity and diversity.
Revlon took to Twitter, demonstrating the statistics of their corporate employees: 27% Black, 9% Hispanic, 5% Asian, 1% Mixed Race, 1% American Indian/Pacific Islander, 57% Caucasian. Among all of their Directors, 5% were black.

Revlon continued, “We acknowledge that we are not where we need to be on diversity and representation at our company. Inclusion is one of Revlon’s core values and we are committed to taking actions to improve the representation of people of color in our Company through employment practices at every level and career advancement.
We will be taking additional steps in the coming days, weeks, months as we challenge ourselves to evolve as a brand, a company, and a community. We can and will do better.”
Some of Revlon’s followers appreciated the feedback.
We appreciate your transparency, respect your accountability, and look forward to the changes you’ll make in support of the black community #BlackLivesMatter #pulluporshutup

Some have also seen the slight hypocrisy in terms of their statistics and numbers.
Wow!!! We tried to tell you this for yeeeears!! Your ad agencies dismissed us! They ignored the value of blackness but wasn’t shy about taking black money and now you want to half apologize??? Wow!!! You allowed them the power to do this! You gave them the power!
