Emma Watson Has a New Job: Member of Kering’s Board of Directors
Kering, the international group that owns Gucci, Alexander Mc Queen, and many other luxury brands, has announced three new executive board members: Emma Watson, Jean Lui, and Tidjan Thiam.
Via their Instagram account, the luxury group Kering has officially named Emma Waston a member of their Board of Directors. The actress is known for her engagement and activism in women’s rights. In 2014, the UN named her ‘ UN Women Goodwill Ambassador’ where she promotes women in society. Emma also actively participates in the HeForShe campaign, which advocates for equity between men and women. Not only Emma Watson is a new member of the board, but she also took on the role of Chair of the Sustainability Committee within the Board of Directors.
In an effort to advance inclusion and diversity, the group has also selected, for the first time in its history, two people of color to take on executive board roles. Joining alongside Emma is Jean Liu, a Chinese businesswoman, and Tidjane Thiam, a French-Ivorian banker.
