Jason Mraz Will Donate All of the Earnings From His New Album ‘Look For The Good’ in Fight for Social Justice
On Friday, Jason Mraz will release his new album, Look For The Good, and donate all proceeds to organizations like Black Lives Matter, Grassroots Law Project and Equal Justice Initiative.
Mraz already received a $250,000 advance on his royalties and announced that he donated them to all the previously listed organizations. Mraz will release Look For The Good on Juneteenth, the day that marks the end of slavery in the United States.
The “I’m Yours” and “Life is Wonderful” singer has also been actively protesting on the streets of Los Angeles in honor of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. Mraz writes a moving statement on a Twitter thread below and adds– “to share the wealth, to share the profits, and to acknowledge that life is only great when it’s great for everyone.”
My personal engagement with philanthropy has never been motivated by a press opportunity. But today I am announcing my contributions publicly in hopes of inspiring other creators and leaders in business to do the same –

Mraz’s song lyrics and philanthropy are in our hearts as we stand together in this historic fight for racial justice and equality.
I am an incoming junior at the UCLA College of Letters and Science. Through my love and appreciation for literature, social justice, feminism, public speaking, and writing, I am planning on pursuing a career in immigration and public interest law. I want to help those who are either the victims of the system or discrimination because I wholeheartedly believe that the purpose of my life is to help others and take cases that nobody else is willing to take.
