During the 35-minute episode, the panel of women discussed police brutality, diversity, inclusion, cancel culture, and more. While Willow’s mother Jada expressed that “Black America is in a crisis,” referring to the deaths of George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, and Breonna Taylor, Willow expressed optimism regarding the future and racial equality.
“We’re blurring the lines…and kids are growing up with this understanding that you can be whatever you want and you’re not defined by your oppression, or your gender or your color,” said Willow.
Amid the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement, Willow has been using her platform to spread awareness of the issues surrounding the Black community as well as encourage her 6.4 million Instagram followers to donate, sign petitions, and elevate black voices.
