Normani and Urban Decay Are Sharing Beauty in All Its Colors

Urban Decay

Normani is making her debut as Urban Decay’s Global Ambassador and she wants to see change for good.

Taking to Instagram, the “Motivation” singer announced last week that she has been signed onto her first-ever beauty partnership with the legendary beauty brand. It’s a collaboration with deep-rooted significance for Black communities in particular as Normani expressed her hopes of using her platform to shake up the status quo, diversifying beauty standards “to celebrate beauty in every color.”

The singer joins Urban Decay’s new class of Global Citizens alongside Hong Kong singer G.E.M and Riverdale star Camila Mendes for the brand’s Pretty Different campaign, which celebrates women’s individuality and efforts to push representational boundaries. Each celeb will promote the brand’s latest launches, like the Ultraviolet Eyeshadow Palette which promises luxurious shimmers and dusty mauves.

The program spreads hope for greater diversity in the beauty industry as it follows increasing transparency from beauty companies on their numbers of Black employees. Last week, Urban Decay’s parent company L’Oréal publicly shared a breakdown of Black employees after calls from the Pull Up or Shut Up campaign.

So make room in your makeup draws for some new products because this is a collaboration that’s as powerful as it is beautiful, where you can support diversity while getting your glam on. You can shop for the latest collection on Urban Decay.
