Listen to Usher’s Hopeful New Track ‘I Cry’ in Support of Black Lives Matter

R&B/pop legend Usher released a new track in hopes of creating a better world for his sons. Usher Raymond IV dropped his latest project in support of not only Black Lives Matter but for Black-owned businesses.

He also wrote the song for his two sons, Usher “Cinco” Raymond V and Naviyd Ely Raymond, for them to understand the importance of showing emotions and being vulnerable. In a world where black boys and men are sometimes raised to be “tough and not show our vulnerability,” Usher wanted to be a better example for them. The song was in his archives to be recorded for a later date, but when news of George Floyd’s murder, as well as the senseless violence against Black men and women, were announced, the singer returned to this song to release.
