Chloe x Halle Address Black Lives Matter Before Giving a Jaw-Dropping Performance at the 2020 BET Awards
Chloe x Halle talked about Black Lives Matter before they stole the show with their incredible performance, and you need to hear what they had to say.
Chloe x Halle made jaws drop with their amazing performance at the 2020 BET Awards on Sunday night. The duo gave the audience the ultimate surprise by performing two songs off their new album, Ungodly Hour, making the night especially unforgettable. They opened with their leading track, “Forgive Me” and followed it with “Do It,” which has been one of the biggest hits from their latest album.

However, before the songstresses stole the show, they addressed the Black Lives Matter movement. Black Lives Matter has been gaining momentum ever since the unjust and untimely death of George Floyd at the end of May.
Chloe addressed the delayed release of Ungodly Hour in light of the resurgence of the fight for racial justice: “It wasn’t right; we didn’t want the attention on us. We wanted to shine a light on what matters the most to us at this time.” She continued to say, “These past two weeks have been very overwhelming; we’ve been hurting, we’ve been in pain. But we’re also very hopeful, because our peers are raising our voices and we’re letting ourselves be heard and not backing down and taking no for an answer.”
Chloe x Halle have been quite active in using their social media to spread awareness and garner support for the Black community.
We were absolutely blown away by their show-stopping performance at the 2020 BET Awards, and are proud to see them using their influence to speak out about racial injustice. For more information about Black Lives Matter, you can visit their website.
