Spotify Launches New Couples’ Subscription
With the all-new Spotify Duo subscription, two listeners who live together can share a combined account.
Spotify Duo is the first of its kind in the music streaming industry. Designed for pairs that live together, this new feature lets partners or roommates share a single bill of $12.99 per month. The new subscription launches today in 55 markets around the world.
With our new Spotify Premium Duo subscription plan, there’s an even easier way for couples to enjoy their favorite music—together and separately. Check out all the details here ⬇️ https://t.co/MwBkoE71Xf

The new subscription takes a “together but separate” approach. Each individual on the plan can maintain their unique premium account with their own playlists and preferences. The two users can stream individually, uninterrupted, at any time.
However, Spotify will also create a Duo Mix suggested playlist, allowing couples to blend their tastes and discover new musical compatibilities. For couples and friends who constantly battle over control of the speakers, a Duo Mix may make it easier to stream tunes that everyone can enjoy.
To be eligible for Spotify Duo, both listeners must reside at the same address. Existing Premium users can upgrade to a Spotify Duo account without losing their listening history, playlists, or podcasts.
Already, Spotify lovers (and haters) on social media have found humor and excitement in the new subscription plan.
